A directive from Taiz Governor Nabil Shamsan revealed that dozens of government and private establishments in Taiz city have been under the control of armed elements for ten years.
On Sunday, September 28, 2025, Shamsan ordered the leaders of the Taiz Military Axis and the Director General of Police of the governorate to evacuate and hand over all public and private facilities seized outside legal frameworks.
He also ordered the assignment of a number of joint security campaign teams, led by Advisor to the Axis Commander and Chairman of the Facilities Restoration Committee, Abdo Farhan “Salem”, to undertake the immediate evacuation and transfer process, and to submit an urgent report on the results.
The facilities to be delivered include:
1- Technical education and professional training workshops
2- Buildings and courtyards of the Technical Institute
3- Public Health and Population Buildings
4- Tourist Office building
5- Tuberculosis center
6- Branch of the Supreme Medicines Authority
7- Community technical college
8- Branch of the Social Insurance Fund
9- Directorate of Literacy and Adult Education
10- Office of Planning and International Cooperation
11- Yemeni Women’s Union

The armed groups’ continued control over this large number of facilities confirms that these groups have controlled the city for a decade, as their continued usurpation of these institutions indicates that they have strong influence, allowing them to continue to retain them despite the passage of a decade.
